Liz and Jenn are the cutest ever. They are taking a horticulture class together and learning all kinds of stuff about growing plants. they even brought a couple of plants home form class and had to pot them. jenn named her plant Ethel and Liz named her's Manana. so now my bamboo plant, Jeremy has new friends!

Are you the outdoor type?

SO Ruthie put together a CD for all of us kids who went backpacking (she's pretty much the best i know). well this CD has all kinds of songs that were sung and talked about while we were out on the trail. the song that i find most entertaining is called "I Lied About Being the Outdoor Type" by the Lemonheads. the lyrics just crack me up! they go as follows:

Always had a roof above me,
always paid the rent,
and i never set foot inside a tent.
I can't build a fire to save my life,
I lied about being the outdoor type.

I never slept out underneath the stars.
The closest that i came to that,
was one time my car
broke down for an hour
in the suburbs at night.
i lied about being the outdoor type.

too scared to let you know.
you knew what you were looking for.
i lied until i fit the bill.
god bless the great indoors!
I lied about being the outdoor type
i never owned a sleeping bag,
let alone a mountian bike.

i cant go away with you on a rockclimbing weekend,
what if somethings on TV and its never shown again?
its just as well i'm not invited, i'm afraid of heights.
i lied about being the outdoor type.
never learned to swim,
can't grow a beard or even fight
i lied about being the outdoor type

Now i am the outdoor type and i like boys that are the outdoor type... a lot. the outdoor type is the only way to be. Don't let this song be you... get out there and enjoy the great wide world.
