Job Hunt

I have spent the last five days or so driving around and applying at every place that will let me leave an application. No one seems very interested in hiring so I'm getting a bit frustrated. I applied at EMS on Saturday and they actually are hiring which is very exciting! I'm just asking that everybody pray for me, I really need a job. I can't go much longer without one. Thanks!

Rockbridge

So yeah, its been a while since my last post... but in my defense I've not had a computer for the last week because I was at camp. Rockbridge was really great. It was a super fun way to kick off the summer. I learned more than I ever wanted to know about being a small group leader. I am super excited to be co-leading a small group with Armondo. We have very high hopes! I played lots of beach volleyball while at camp too. I don't have any raspberries to show off proudly, but the NC State team did do better in the tournament than I anticipated. And then there was the blob. You know those huge bags of air where one person "blobs" another person into the water. yep I played that game. A very large boy I didn't know blobbed me and I went soaring into the air and crash landed on my back. It stung for a while but I didn't come away with bruises anywhere as bad as Liz's. Oh and I learned one other thing while at Rockbridge... I SUCK at foose-ball. I think I played 25 games and I lost consecutively, don't fret though, I did improve immensely. Even though I can't beat James in foose-ball I sure 'nough whooped him in air hockey (haha I have to take what I can get). All in all Rockbridge was an incredible experience and I can't wait to go back next year.

P.S. I almost forgot, one of my favorite parts of camp was when we were singing praise and worship during the huge storm that passed through the mountains. We were singing Blessed Be Your Name, we got to the part of the song that goes "when the darkness closes in" and the power went out, but we just kept on praising Jesus! It was one of the funnest worship experiences that I've ever had!!

Oh it is going to be so very fun. Now i think i might watch a movie or even take a nap...

NC State, My Home Away from Home

So Jenn has left me. My room is naked. I can't handle it. She is gone and now I have no one to wake me up in the middle of the night in a coughing fit. Her laundry is no longer spewing out of the closet. Even Alpha (our Beta fish) is depressed. It just feels so lonely. Last night was the first night I slept in the room by myself. It was very erie. I don't think I enjoyed it very much.

Everyone is packing up all their stuff and leaving. It is really making me sad. I can't believe it is going to be 3 months before I see most of these people again. I wonder just how exactly I am going to get along with out all of them. Who will I play sneak attack with? Who's trident gum will I chew? Who will call me fat... well I guess Matt can take care of that one...

It just seems so strange to be leaving everyone. I am so thankful to have met all the wonderful people that I call my friends. I am thankful for all the good times and laughter that we have shared. 909 chicks, you will always be my family. I love each of you with all my heart, thank you for loving me!

Brain Pain

I've been studying all day. I have made it through all of my chemistry material and even took some practice tests. I think I'm as ready as I will ever be. I guess tomorrow I will find out won't I. My brain is cramping because I have tried to store mass amounts of information there... like a whole text book worth. I just pray that it all stays in there until after the exam tomorrow. Pray that I pass!!

Exam Cram

ladies and gentleman, 2 down and 2 to go!! today i had my physics and english exams, and i stinkin' aced 'em! that leaves chem for thursday and calc for next monday. i love exam time... well except for the exams of course. when people aren't studying we just chill and watch movies and play games and stuff. its actually relaxing, believe it or not. tonight we watched Pirates, and it was most enjoyable. i think Capt. Jack Sparrow gets hotter every time i see it. it was super fun and i cant wait to do it again... tomorrow night maybe...

Rain Rain Go Away

ok so i did get to see some baseball today! :) i went down to the field with Jenn and Nick after church to catch the last half of yesterday's rescheduled double header. so we took towels with us cause it had been drizzling earlier. so were sitting in the stands just chillin' and enjoying the game. i mean there wasn't anything super fun going on. i was like any other sporting event that we've been to: Jenn and i were talking about how hot the catcher was, Nick was confused about the rules and we were all chowing down on some hotdogs (free hotdogs always tates better). so the day that had started out clody and dreary had turned to bright and sunny... or so we thought. ok so were still chillen in the stands right. all the sudden the shy turns completely dark... i'm talking like 8 o'clock at night dark. Jenn goes "its gonna pour i'm leaving, i dont wanna get caught in it". me, being the brilliant baseball addict that i am was like "there's only half an inning left i'm gonna stay and watch the end". alright so now Jenn and Nick are gone right and i'm there chillin' in my seat, and yes i was checking out the catcher. Now this huge wind comes across the field and its followed closely by what sounded like a heard of horses. so i bolt out of my seat grab my stuff and i'm running out of the stadium. and then it hits... i'm caught in the middle of a torrential downpour. im wrapped in my beachtowel sporting my NC State basesball cap, already soaked and i still have to walk down the hill to get to my dorm. so i'm walking in the pouring down rain and i'm laughing histerically because its rediculously fun. so i get under cover at the dorm and there is Jenn with her towel on her head like mother terresa and we look at each other and we both bust out laughing. when i finally catch my breath i look at her and go "I love my life!!!" so we come upstair and walk past the lounge where Liz is studying for her exams. i give her the supercool head nod and keep walking back to my room. so Liz stick her head out the door and just laughs at Jenn and i for ten minutes. now immagine three chicks standing in the hall, two soaked head to toe all laughing so hard they can hardly breath. so now i'm finally back in my room and i'm dry and im writing this blogg, laughing the whole time of course. anyway the moral of my story is: WATCH BASEBALL!!!!

Re: Baseball

the game was rained out ::sigh:: No baseball for me :(

Baseball

The breezeway in front of my room is a great place to enjoy the sunshine. it just so happens that it overlooks Doak Field. to those of you unfamiliar with state's campus, i have a great view of the baseball field just outside my window. i love to watch the boys out on the filed practicing. i can sit in my room and listen to the sound of bats and balls. yes, its music to my ears. this afternoon i will be strolling over to Doak to catch the game vs. Georgia Tech. im very excited. GO WOLFPACK!!
